Forge & Farm is a family-run regenerative farm and blacksmithing forge located in the Alberta Foothills.
We offer hands-on workshops and immersive experiences to celebrate craft, inspire connection, and impart practical skills so that we may leave the land and our communities better than we found them.

Forge
Our working forge is a place to gather, expand your skillset, and thrive creatively. We offer immersive blacksmithing experiences year-round, and take great pride in imparting this ancient craft to others. James brings over 25 years of experience to the forge and has been teaching since 2015. We can’t wait for you to join us!
& Farm
Perched in the foothills, just east of the Rocky Mountains, our farm specializes in growing gourmet hardneck garlic. Through an expanding product line (including award-winning black garlic, compound butters, and pesto) and a variety of homesteading workshops, we invite people to consider where their food comes from, engage with the landscape, and connect with each other.
Our Story
We are Cheryl and James Greisinger. In 2010, we moved from Calgary to an acreage outside of Millarville, leaving behind corporate work and increasing rents for a more present and connected life on the land. We brought some skills with us (James was already an experienced blacksmith) and picked up others along the way (Cheryl quickly pursued her Permaculture Design Certificate) as we transformed our homestead and started a family – bringing our working lives into alignment with our broader values and vision for a more sustainable future. Forge & Farm is an ever-evolving reflection of who we are and what we believe in.
Our workshops offer hands-on experiences to forge contemporary and traditional pieces with steel and fire. Try your hand at applying traditional blacksmithing techniques in a small group setting, taught by a member of the Blacksmith team.
